It was a warm spring night, and THE BLOCK’s closest friends were in the mood to party. To celebrate the launch of our Art Issue, we got together with fashion label Obakki and artist Brent Comber for an evening of art and fashion and fun. More than 300 people turned up at Obakki’s flagship store in Vancouver to check out the new BLOCK issue, shop Obakki’s Spring/Summer 09 collections, and take in the striking new pieces from Comber’s series Making the Known Unknown. The series includes a tree stump 6 feet in diameter that had to be dropped by crane on the sidewalk out front.
